shambles P.I.: madras of love

A lot of people complain about dating in DC. They claim it's hard to meet people with whom they have a real, true, undeniable connection. However, I'm a believer in love and I know -- I just really, really know -- that there's someone out there for everyone. And when you see true love blossom before your eyes, it really is a beautiful thing. Well, unless there are madras involved. Then it's just gross. Can I get a witness?!

Tell your madras to get with my madras and we can be madras.

No, e-friends, your eyes are not deceiving you. What you're viewing above is, indeed, the deadly his and hers madras/flip-flops combo. And sadly (although always thankfully) we weren't in Georgetown when we witnessed this (kudos to B.A.D. for snapping such a great photo, by the way). Nope, we were at Local 16 on U Street. Proof that this area of town is the new Adams Morgan, which makes Adams Morgan the new Georgetown, which means DC now boasts two douche-to-the-max neighborhoods with U Street breathing down their proverbial necks (that are undoubtedly encased in several popped collars).

Welcome to hell, e-friends. Welcome to goddamn hell. Ironically, it's not hot. But it is shambley!

Have you done some Shambles P.I. work and want to see it online but are too lazy/nice to start your own blog dedicated to mocking others? No prob. Send your sly photographs to theantidc@gmail.com and we'll do work.

Shit, we can do this every weekend!

Sigh... and I bet this wasn't even after the Douching Hour.

And just to add to the fashion sense, the guy seems to have a white watchband and the woman's purse appears to have been made from a Giant shopping bag. I don't feel so bad about my constant jean-and-sneakers style now.

I forgot to mention that the shorts with the control top pantyhose underneath that I saw a few days ago were madras.

I love this site so much... but it does make me die a little inside. In a good, hateful kind of way. :-)

They must've been so embarrassed when they realized, 20 minutes after leaving the house, they were matching.

It was just before the dawning of the Douching Hour.

Beware of douche-denim, however. Although, I'm assuming you know better already.

I just e-barfed.

Um...thanks?

If only they left the house together! No, these madras met at the bar! I saw the whole thing happen. It was both magical and horrifying at the same time. Ahh, madras love connections...

I find myself completely ignorant of this phenomenon known as "madras".

For this I'm thankful.

Seriously, what the hell is wrong with people?

One day, I'll run into a man wearing a sundress and sneakers, and we'll fall madly in love.

This could all be avoided if we roadblocked all entrances to DC on a nightly basis.

Have you seen the bridge and tunnel toolbags who hang out at Marvin on the weekends?

I posted that comment twice because I feel very strongly about it, obviously.

Does Shannon mean that she'll be wearing the sundress/sneakers? Or that the guy will be?

Don't even think about it, unless you have already devised a plan to steer / blindfold / bribe them away from Old Town / Del Ray that we don't already know about. I hear Tysons Corner is real hip. :D

Highway - we will both be in cheap H&M sundresses and Chuck Taylors, and will fall in mad narcissistic love at first sight. And you can all be bridesmaids at our sneaker-filled wedding.

Oh man, you took the words right out of my head. Bravo.
