DC's penchant for ugliness may dash my plans to buy real estate

As some of you might already know, I'm hoping to buy property this year because paying rent is for suckers. Now, where I'll scrounge up the money to front a down payment is still a minor detail I haven't fully thought through yet, but I feel with housing prices so low, I'd be remiss not to get while the proverbial gettin' is good. And after what I just found out not more than five minutes ago, I think I better get on this gettin' sooner than originally planned.

See, I have this new suspicion that the economy is about to go on an upswing. And, sure, that would be nice for the vast majority of Americans, but for me and my planned biggest purchase ever, that blows. (Oh stop, since when does The Anti DC care about others? That's preposterous!)

So what may bring about this change, you ask? Here's my theory: DC females will single-handedly revitalize the economy by causing a sharp spike in Ann Taylor Loft stock in the coming weeks. Why? Not because DC females are suddenly raking in more money. And certainly not because Ann Taylor is making her exceptionally boring and hideous sh*t less exceptionally boring and hideous. Nope. It's because one of DC's most wonderfully written style blogs, A Serious Job Is No Excuse, is officially no more. And while I've criticized some of its subject matter because I found it slightly remedial, I rightfully conceded that it was a boon for DC women, who are notoriously bad dressers.

But, moreover, I think all of us who are able to read and possess a sense of humor will miss the daily wordsmithing and wit of Johanna, ASJiNE's author. And although I don't know anything for certain, I have a feeling we'll see her name again in publications that will probably make me incredibly envious. So, DC ladies, as a plea from me to you to keep grooming yourselves and dressing better, um, as well as to keep the real estate buyer's market hot for just a few more months (I told you The Anti DC doesn't care about others!), please put her name on your Google alert.

I only occasionally read that blog, but I hate to see bloggers I've met hang it up.

That said, I never figured out the difference between Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft. I know it doesn't have anything to do with you buying property, but it's still unclear to me.

Honestly, I have a hard time figuring out the difference between Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft, besides the fact that The Loft is cheaper. Aesthetically, however, I think they're both equally shiteous. But, that's just my opinion.
